TreeFella’s arborists were called to a very sorrowful looking tree. The tree preservation order had not been enfo rced and ground workers had trenched around the roots. This was a very serious situation and required a long-term programme of plant healthcare. TreeFella’s immediately carried out root pruning to rectify the damage to the trenched zones. The trenches were reinstated to cover the root system.

Then the work started to spread 17 tons of soil improver over the entire area of the remaining root system. De-compaction and aeration techniques were used to restore the soil quality and then liquid root enhancement products were injected into the root zone. Inspection tubes were installed to monitor the recovery of the tree over the next 18 months with inspections carried out every two weeks. As you can see, the extension growth is impressive and the colour in the canopy is very encouraging however the tree is still machining a long – term recovery.
